Guidelines for Admission to B.Ed. Course

2-Year Bachelor of Education Programme

A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the programme leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) provided they meet the educational qualifications and criteria mandated by NCTE, TNTEU, and the Government of Tamil Nadu:

  • Qualifying Study Pattern: Candidates should have undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board / CBSE or any recognized Board of Education and U.G. Degree examination of UGC recognized Universities in any of the school subjects offered at Secondary / Higher Secondary level.
  • Double / Triple Major Candidates: Candidates who have taken more than one main subject under Double/Triple Major system of U.G. Degree course should choose only one of the main subjects for their pedagogy optional. Marks obtained in all major subjects shall be taken into account to arrive at the aggregate percentage.
  • Integrated P.G. Degree Holders: Candidates who have qualified in 5-Year Integrated P.G. Degree under 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern of study shall be considered for admission, and the marks obtained in P.G. will be taken into account.
  • Mandatory P.G. Subjects: For candidates applying for pedagogy in Economics, Commerce, Home Science, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic, and Indian Culture, a Master’s Degree (P.G.) with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant subject is mandatory.

Guidelines for Admission to M.Ed. Course

2-Year Master of Education Postgraduate Programme
  • B.Ed. Degree Qualification: Candidates should have undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed qualifying examinations with a minimum of 50% marks in both Theory and Practicals separately in B.Ed. degree from a recognized University.
  • Integrated B.Ed. Candidates: Candidates with 4-Year Integrated B.Ed. (10+2+4 or 11+1+4) with a minimum of 50% marks in Theory and Practicals are eligible.
  • Aggregate Calculation: The percentage of marks in the B.Ed. Degree is calculated by adding the marks obtained in Theory and Practicals.
